The number of Aws who were present at Badr
[ مِنْ بَنِي عَدِيِّ بْنِ عَمْرٍو ] وَمِنْ بَنِي عَدِيِّ بْنِ عَمْرِو بْنِ مَالِكِ بْنِ النَّجَّارِ: قَالَ ابْنُ هِشَامٍ: وَهُمْ بَنُو مَغَالَةَ بِنْتِ عَوْفِ بْنِ عَبْدِ مَنَاةَ بْنِ عَمْرِو بْنِ مَالِكِ بْنِ كِنَانَةَ بْنِ خُزَيْمَةَ؛ وَيُقَالُ: إنَّهَا مِنْ بَنِي زُرَيْقٍ، وَهِيَ أُمُّ عَدِيِّ بْنِ عَمْرِو بْنِ مَالِكِ بْنِ النَّجَّارِ، فَبَنُو عَدِيٍّ يُنْسَبُونَ إلَيْهَا -: أَوْسُ بْنُ ثَابِتِ بْنِ الْمُنْذِرِ بْنِ حَرَامِ بْنِ عَمْرِو بْنِ زَيْدِ مَنَاةَ بْنِ عَدِيٍّ، وَأَبُو شَيْخِ أُبَيِّ بْنِ ثَابِتِ بْنِ الْمُنْذِرِ بْنِ حَرَامِ بْنِ عَمْرِو بْنِ زَيْدِ مَنَاةَ بْنِ عَدِيٍّ. قَالَ ابْنُ هِشَامٍ: أَبُو شَيْخِ أُبَيِّ بْنِ ثَابِتٍ، أَخُو حَسَّانَ بْنِ ثَابِتٍ. قَالَ ابْنُ إسْحَاقَ: وَأَبُو طَلْحَةَ، وَهُوَ زَيْدُ بْنُ سَهْلِ بْنِ الْأَسْوَدِ بْنِ حَرَامِ بْنِ عَمْرِو بْنِ زَيْدِ مَنَاةَ بْنِ عَدِيٍّ ثَلَاثَةُ نَفَرٍ
Translation
✧ [From Banū ʿAdī b. ʿAmr] And from Banū ʿAdī b. ʿAmr b. Mālik b. al-Najjār: Ibn Hishām said: They are Banū Maghāla bt. ʿAwf b. ʿAbd Manāt b. ʿAmr b. Mālik b. Kināna b. Khuzayma; and it is said that she was from Banū Zurayq, and she was the mother of ʿAdī b. ʿAmr b. Mālik b. al-Najjār, so Banū ʿAdī are attributed to her: Aws b. Thābit b. al-Mundhir b. Ḥarām b. ʿAmr b. Zayd Manāt b. ʿAdī, and Abū Shaykh Ubayy b. Thābit b. al-Mundhir b. Ḥarām b. ʿAmr b. Zayd Manāt b. ʿAdī. Ibn Hishām said: Abū Shaykh Ubayy b. Thābit was the brother of Ḥassān b. Thābit. Ibn Isḥāq said: And Abū Ṭalḥa—who is Zayd b. Sahl b. al-Aswad b. Ḥarām b. ʿAmr b. Zayd Manāt b. ʿAdī—three persons.
