The Helpers and those with them
[ سَبَبُ تَسْمِيَةِ عُبَيْدٍ بِمِقْرَنٍ ] قَالَ ابْنُ هِشَامٍ: عُبَيْدُ بْنُ أَوْسٍ الَّذِي يُقَالُ لَهُ: مُقَرَّنٌ، لِأَنَّهُ قَرَنَ أَرْبَعَةَ أَسْرَى فِي يَوْمِ بَدْرٍ. وَهُوَ الَّذِي أَسَرَ عَقِيلَ بْنَ أَبِي طَالِبٍ يَوْمَئِذٍ. [ مِنْ بَنِي عَبْدِ رَزَاحَ وَحُلَفَائِهِمْ ] قَالَ ابْنُ إسْحَاقَ: وَمِنْ بَنِي عَبْدِ بْنِ رَزَاحِ بْنِ كَعْبٍ: نَصْرُ بْنُ الْحَارِثِ بْنِ عَبْدٍ، وَمُعَتِّبُ بْنُ عَبْدٍ. وَمِنْ حُلَفَائِهِمْ، مِنْ بَلِيٍّ: عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ طَارِقٍ. ثَلَاثَةُ نَفَرٍ. [ مِنْ بَنِي حَارِثَةَ ] وَمِنْ بَنِي حَارِثَةَ بْنِ الْحَارِثِ بْنِ الْخَزْرَجِ بْنِ عَمْرِو بْنِ مَالِكِ بْنِ الْأَوْسِ: مَسْعُودُ بْنُ سَعْدِ بْنِ عَامِرِ بْنِ عَدِيِّ بْنِ جُشَمِ بْنِ مَجْدَعَةَ بْنِ حَارِثَةَ. قَالَ ابْنُ هِشَامٍ: وَيُقَالُ: مَسْعُودُ بْنُ عَبْدِ سَعْدٍ. قَالَ ابْنُ إسْحَاقَ: وَأَبُو عَبْسِ بْنُ جَبْرِ بْنِ عَمْرِو بْنِ زَيْدِ بْنِ جُشَمِ بْنِ مَجْدَعَةَ بْنِ حَارِثَةَ. وَمِنْ حُلَفَائِهِمْ، ثُمَّ مِنْ بَلِيٍّ: أَبُو بُرْدَةَ بْنُ نَيَّارٍ، وَاسْمُهُ: هَانِئُ بْنُ نَيَّارِ بْنِ عَمْرِو بْنِ عُبَيْدِ بْنِ كِلَابِ بْنِ دُهْمَانَ بْنِ غَنَمِ بْنِ ذُبْيَانَ بْنِ هُمَيْمِ بْنِ كَاهِلِ بْنِ ذُهْلِ بْنِ هُنَيِّ بْنِ بَلِيِّ بْنِ عَمْرِو بْنِ الْحَافِّ بْنِ قُضَاعَةَ. ثَلَاثَةُ نَفَرٍ
Translation
✧ [The reason for naming ʿUbayd as Muqrin] Ibn Hishām said: ʿUbayd b. Aws is the one called Muqrin, because he tied together four captives on the day of Badr. He is the one who captured ʿAqīl b. Abī Ṭālib on that day. [From the Banū ʿAbd Razāḥ and their allies] Ibn Isḥāq said: From the Banū ʿAbd b. Razāḥ b. Kaʿb: Naṣr b. al-Ḥārith b. ʿAbd, and Muʿattib b. ʿAbd. From their allies, from Balī: ʿAbd Allāh b. Ṭāriq. Three persons. [From the Banū Ḥārithah] And from the Banū Ḥārithah b. al-Ḥārith b. al-Khazraj b. ʿAmr b. Mālik b. al-Aws: Masʿūd b. Saʿd b. ʿĀmir b. ʿAdī b. Jusham b. Majdaʿah b. Ḥārithah. Ibn Hishām said: It is also said: Masʿūd b. ʿAbd Saʿd. Ibn Isḥāq said: And Abū ʿAbs b. Jabr b. ʿAmr b. Zayd b. Jusham b. Majdaʿah b. Ḥārithah. From their allies, then from Balī: Abū Burdah b. Niyār, whose name is Hāniʾ b. Niyār b. ʿAmr b. ʿUbayd b. Kilāb b. Duhmān b. Ghanam b. Dhubyān b. Humaym b. Kāhil b. Dhuhl b. Hunayy b. Balī b. ʿAmr b. al-Ḥāf b. Quḍāʿah. Three persons.
