The Two Banners of the Messenger ﷺ
[ رَايَتَا الرَّسُولِ ﷺ ] قَالَ ابْنُ إسْحَاقَ: وَكَانَ أَمَامَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ رَايَتَانِ سَوْدَاوَانِ، إحْدَاهُمَا مَعَ عَلِيِّ بْنِ أَبِي طَالِبٍ، يُقَالُ لَهَا: الْعُقَابُ، وَالْأُخْرَى مَعَ بَعْضِ الْأَنْصَارِ
Translation
✧ [The two banners of the Messenger ﷺ] Ibn Isḥāq said: Before the Messenger of God ﷺ there were two black banners, one of them with ʿAlī b. Abī Ṭālib, called al-ʿUqāb, and the other with one of the Anṣār.
