The dwellings of the emigrants in Madinah
[ مَنْزِلُ طَلْحَةَ وَصُهَيْبٍ منازل المهاجرين في المدينة بعد الهجرة ] ثُمَّ تَتَابَعَ الْمُهَاجِرُونَ، فَنَزَلَ طَلْحَةُ بْنُ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُثْمَانَ، وَصُهَيْبُ بْنُ سِنَانٍ عَلَى خُبَيْبِ بْنِ إِسَافٍ، أَخِي بَلْحَارِثِ بْنِ الْخَزْرَجِ بِالسُّنْحِ. وَيُقَالُ: بَلْ نَزَلَ طَلْحَةُ بْنُ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ عَلَى أَسْعَدِ بْنِ زُرَارَةَ، أَخِي بَنِي النَّجَّارِ. قَالَ ابْنُ هِشَامٍ: وَذُكِرَ لِي عَنْ أَبِي عُثْمَانَ النَّهْدِيِّ، أَنَّهُ قَالَ: بَلَغَنِي أَنَّ صُهَيْبًا حَيْنَ أَرَادَ الْهِجْرَةَ قَالَ لَهُ كُفَّارُ قُرَيْشٍ: أَتَيْتنَا صُعْلُوكًا حَقِيرًا، فَكَثُرَ مَالُكَ عِنْدَنَا، وَبَلَغْتَ الَّذِي بَلَغْتَ، ثُمَّ تُرِيدُ أَنْ تَخْرُجَ بِمَالِكَ وَنَفْسِكَ، وَاَللَّهِ لَا يَكُونُ ذَلِكَ؛ فَقَالَ لَهُمْ صُهَيْبٌ: أَرَأَيْتُمْ إنْ جَعَلْتُ لَكُمْ مَالِي أَتُخْلُونَ سَبِيلِي ؟ قَالُوا: نَعَمْ. قَالَ: فَإِنِّي جَعَلْتُ لَكُمْ مَالِي. قَالَ: فَبَلَغَ ذَلِكَ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ، فَقَالَ: رَبِحَ صُهَيْبٌ، رَبِحَ صُهَيْبٌ [ مَنْزِلُ حَمْزَةَ وَزَيْدٍ وَأَبِي مَرْثَدٍ وَابْنِهِ وَأَنَسَةَ وَأَبِي كَبْشَةَ ] قَالَ ابْنُ إسْحَاقَ: وَنَزَلَ حَمْزَةُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْمُطَّلَبِ، وَزَيْدُ بْنُ حَارِثَةَ، وَأَبُو مَرْثَدٍ كَنَّازُ بْنُ حِصْنٍ قَالَ ابْنُ هِشَامٍ: وَيُقَالُ، ابْنُ حُصَيْنٍ - وَابْنُهُ مَرْثَدٌ الْغَنَوِيَّانِ، حَلِيفَا حَمْزَةَ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْمُطَّلِبِ، وَأَنَسَةُ، وَأَبُو كَبْشَةَ، مَوْلِيَّا رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ، عَلَى كُلْثُومِ بْنِ هِدْمٍ، أَخِي بَنِي عَمْرِو بْنِ عَوْفٍ بقُباءٍ: وَيُقَالُ: بَلْ نَزَلُوا عَلَى سَعْدِ بْنِ خَيْثمةَ؛ وَيُقَالُ: بَلْ نَزَلَ حَمْزَةُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْمُطَّلِبِ عَلَى أَسْعَدِ بْنِ زُرَارَةَ، أَخِي بَنِي النَّجَّارِ. كُلُّ ذَلِكَ يُقَالُ: [ مَنْزِلُ عُبَيْدَةَ وَأَخِيهِ الطَّفِيلِ وَغَيْرِهِمَا منازل المهاجرين في المدينة بعد الهجرة ] وَنَزَلَ عُبَيْدَةُ بْنُ الْحَارِثِ بْنِ الْمُطَّلِبِ وَأَخُوهُ الطُّفَيْلُ بْنُ الْحَارِثِ، وَالْحُصَيْنُ بْنُ الْحَارِثِ، وَمِسْطَحُ بْنُ أُثَاثَةَ بْنِ عَبَّادِ بْنِ الْمُطَّلِبِ، وَسُوَيْبِطُ بْنُ سَعْدِ بْنِ حُرَيْمِلَةَ، أَخُو بَنِي عَبْدِ الدَّارِ، وَطُلَيْبُ بْنُ عُمَيْرٍ، أَخُو بَنِي عَبْدِ بْنِ قُصَيٍّ، وَخَبَّابٌ، مَوْلَى عُتْبَةَ بْنِ غَزْوَانَ، عَلَى عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ سَلَمَةَ، أَخِي بَلْعِجْلَانَ بقُباءٍ
Translation
✧ [The dwelling of Ṭalḥah and Ṣuhayb: the dwellings of the emigrants in Madinah after the Hijrah] Then the emigrants came in succession. Ṭalḥah b. ʿUbayd Allāh b. ʿUthmān and Ṣuhayb b. Sinān stayed with Khubayb b. Isāf, the brother of the Banū al-Ḥārith b. al-Khazraj, at al-Sunḥ. It is also said: rather, Ṭalḥah b. ʿUbayd Allāh stayed with Asʿad b. Zurārah, the brother of the Banū al-Najjār. Ibn Hishām said: It was mentioned to me on the authority of Abū ʿUthmān al-Nahdī that he said: It reached me that when Ṣuhayb wanted to emigrate, the disbelievers of Quraysh said to him: You came to us a destitute wretch, and your wealth increased among us, and you attained what you attained; then you want to depart with your wealth and your own self. By God, that will not happen. So Ṣuhayb said to them: Do you think that if I make my wealth over to you, you will let me go my way? They said: Yes. He said: Then I have made my wealth over to you. He said: That reached the Messenger of God ﷺ, and he said: Ṣuhayb has profited, Ṣuhayb has profited. [The dwelling of Ḥamzah, Zayd, Abū Marthad and his son, Anasah, and Abū Kabshah] Ibn Isḥāq said: Ḥamzah b. ʿAbd al-Muṭṭalib, Zayd b. Ḥārithah, and Abū Marthad Kannāz b. Ḥiṣn—Ibn Hishām said: it is also said, Ibn Ḥuṣayn—and his son Marthad, both of the Banū Ghunaym, the two allies of Ḥamzah b. ʿAbd al-Muṭṭalib, and Anasah and Abū Kabshah, the two freedmen of the Messenger of God ﷺ, stayed with Kulthūm b. Hidm, the brother of the Banū ʿAmr b. ʿAwf, at Qubāʾ. It is also said: rather, they stayed with Saʿd b. Khaythamah. And it is also said: rather, Ḥamzah b. ʿAbd al-Muṭṭalib stayed with Asʿad b. Zurārah, the brother of the Banū al-Najjār. All of that is said. [The dwelling of ʿUbaydah and his brother al-Ṭufayl and others: the dwellings of the emigrants in Madinah after the Hijrah] ʿUbaydah b. al-Ḥārith b. al-Muṭṭalib and his brother al-Ṭufayl b. al-Ḥārith, and al-Ḥuṣayn b. al-Ḥārith, and Misṭaḥ b. Uthāthah b. ʿAbbād b. al-Muṭṭalib, and Suwaybiṭ b. Saʿd b. Ḥuraymilah, the brother of the Banū ʿAbd al-Dār, and Ṭulayb b. ʿUmayr, the brother of the Banū ʿAbd b. Quṣayy, and Khabbāb, the freedman of ʿUtbah b. Ghazwān, stayed with ʿAbd Allāh b. Salamah, the brother of the Banū al-ʿIjlān, at Qubāʾ.
