Sirat Ibn Hisham 437
[ مَدْحُ حَسَّانَ لِهِشَامِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو لِقِيَامِهِ فِي الصَّحِيفَةِ ] قَالَ ابْنُ إسْحَاقَ: وَقَالَ حَسَّانُ بْنُ ثَابِتٍ ( الْأَنْصَارِيُّ ) أَيْضًا: يَمْدَحُ هِشَامَ بْنَ عَمْرٍو لِقِيَامِهِ فِي الصَّحِيفَةِ:: هَلْ يُوَفِّيَنَّ بَنُو أُمَيَّةَ ذِمَّةً عَقْدًا كَمَا أَوْفَى جِوَارُ هِشَامِ مِنْ مَعْشَرٍ لَا يَغْدِرُونَ بِجَارِهِمْ لِلْحَارِثِ بْنِ حُبَيِّبِ بْنِ سُخَامِ وَإِذَا بَنُو حِسْلٍ أَجَارُوا ذِمَّةً أَوْفَوْا وَأَدَّوْا جَارَهُمْ بِسَلَامِ وَكَانَ هِشَامٌ أَحَدَ سُحَامِ ( بِالضَّمِّ ) قَالَ ابْنُ هِشَامٍ: وَيُقَالُ: سُخَامٌ
Translation
✧ [Hassan's praise of Hisham b. 'Amr for his role in the document] Ibn Ishaq said: Hassan b. Thabit (the Ansari) also said, praising Hisham b. 'Amr for his role in the document: Will Banu Umayyah ever fulfill a pact, a covenant, as the protection of Hisham fulfilled it? From a people who do not betray their neighbor— for al-Harith b. Hubayyib b. Sukham. When Banu Hisl grant protection, a covenant, they fulfill it and deliver their neighbor in peace. Hisham was one of Suham (with damma). Ibn Hisham said: It is also said: Sukham.
