Sirat Ibn Hisham 431
[ سَعْيُ هِشَامٍ فِي ضَمِّ أَبِي الْبَخْتَرِيِّ إلَيْهِ ] فَذَهَبَ إلَى الْبَخْتَرِيِّ بْنِ هِشَامٍ، فَسَأَلَ لَهُ نَحْوًا مِمَّا قَالَ لِلْمُطْعِمِ بْنِ عَدِيٍّ، فَقَالَ: وَهَلْ مِنْ أَحَدٍ يُعِينُ عَلَى هَذَا ؟ قَالَ: نَعَمْ، قَالَ: مَنْ هُوَ ؟ قَالَ: زُهَيْرُ بْنُ أَبِي أُمَيَّةَ، وَالْمُطْعِمُ بْنُ عَدِيٍّ، وَأَنَا مَعَكَ، قَالَ: أَبْغِنَا خَامِسًا. [ سَعْيُ هِشَامٍ فِي ضَمِّ زَمْعَةَ لَهُ ] فَذَهَبَ إلَى زَمْعَةَ بْنِ الْأَسْوَدِ بْنِ الْمُطَّلِبِ بْنِ أَسَدٍ، فَكَلَّمَهُ، ذَكَرَ لَهُ قَرَابَتَهُمْ وَحَقَّهُمْ، فَقَالَ لَهُ: وَهَلْ عَلَى هَذَا الْأَمْرِ الَّذِي تَدْعُونِي إلَيْهِ مِنْ أَحَدٍ ؟ قَالَ: نَعَمْ، ثُمَّ سَمَّى لَهُ الْقَوْمَ
Translation
✧ [The effort of Hishām to win Abū al-Bakhtarī over to him] So he went to al-Bakhtarī b. Hishām, and asked of him something like what he had said to al-Muṭʿim b. ʿAdī. He said: "Is there anyone who would help in this?" He said: "Yes." He said: "Who is he?" He said: "Zuhayr b. Abī Umayyah, al-Muṭʿim b. ʿAdī, and I am with you." He said: "Find for us a fifth." [The effort of Hishām to win Zamʿah over to him] So he went to Zamʿah b. al-Aswad b. al-Muṭṭalib b. Asad, and spoke to him, mentioning to him their kinship and their rights. He said to him: "Is there anyone behind this matter to which you are summoning me?" He said: "Yes." Then he named the people for him.
