The arrival of Farwah b. Musayk al-Murādī
[ قُدُومُ فَرْوَةَ عَلَى الرَّسُولِ وَإِسْلَامُهُ ] قَالَ ابْنُ إسْحَاقَ: وَلَمَّا تَوَجَّهَ فَرْوَةُ بْنُ مُسَيْكٍ إلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ مُفَارِقًا لِمُلُوكِ كِنْدَةَ، قَالَ: لَمَّا رَأَيْتُ مُلُوكَ كِنْدَةَ أَعَرَضَتْ كَالرَّجُلِ خَانَ الرَّجُلَ عَرَقَ نَسَائِهَا قَرَّبْتُ رَاحِلَتِي مُحَمَّدًا أَرْجُو فَوَاضِلَهَا وَحُسْنَ ثَرَائِهَا قَالَ ابْنُ هِشَامٍ: أَنْشَدَنِي أَبُو عُبَيْدَةَ: أَرْجُو فَوَاضِلَهُ وَحُسْنَ ثَنَائِهَا. قَالَ ابْنُ إسْحَاقَ: فَلَمَّا انْتَهَى إلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ، قَالَ لَهُ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ، فِيمَا بَلَغَنِي: يَا فَرْوَةُ، هَلْ سَاءَكَ مَا أَصَابَ قَوْمَكَ يَوْمَ الرَّدْمِ ؟ قَالَ: يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ، مَنْ ذَا يُصِيبُ قَوْمَهُ مِثْلُ مَا أَصَابَ قَوْمِي يَوْمَ الرَّدْمِ لَا يَسُوءُهُ ذَلِكَ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ لَهُ: أَمَا إنَّ ذَلِكَ لَمْ يَزِدْ قَوْمَكَ فِي الْإِسْلَامِ إلَّا خَيْرًا وَاسْتَعْمَلَهُ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ عَلَى مُرَادَ وَزُبَيْدٍ وَمَذْحِجٍ كُلِّهَا، وَبَعَثَ مَعَهُ خَالِدَ بْنَ سَعِيدِ بْنِ الْعَاصِ عَلَى الصَّدَقَةِ، فَكَانَ مَعَهُ فِي بِلَادِهِ حَتَّى تَوَفَّى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ
Translation
✧ The arrival of Farwah upon the Messenger and his Islam. Ibn Isḥāq said: When Farwah b. Musayk set out toward the Messenger of God ﷺ, having parted from the kings of Kindah, he said: When I saw the kings of Kindah turn aside, like a man who betrays a man, I was alarmed at the very roots of its lineage. I brought my riding-camel near to Muḥammad, hoping for its bounties and the excellence of its abundance. Ibn Hishām said: Abū ʿUbaydah recited to me: hoping for its bounties and the excellence of its praise. Ibn Isḥāq said: When he came to the Messenger of God ﷺ, the Messenger of God ﷺ said to him, as it has reached me: "O Farwah, did what befell your people on the day of al-Radm grieve you?" He said: "O Messenger of God, who is there whose people were afflicted with the like of what afflicted my people on the day of al-Radm and would not be grieved by that?" The Messenger of God ﷺ said to him: "Indeed, that only increased your people in good in Islam." And the Prophet ﷺ appointed him over Murād, Zubayd, and all of Madhḥij, and sent with him Khālid b. Saʿīd b. al-ʿĀṣ for the ṣadaqah. So he was with him in his land until the Messenger of God ﷺ died.
