Sirat Ibn Hisham 1458
The matter of the properties and captives of Hawazin, the gifts to those whose hearts were to be reconciled from them, and the Messenger's generosity in it ﷺ
أَمْرُ أَمْوَالِ هَوَازِنَ وَسَبَايَاهَا وَعَطَايَا الْمُؤَلَّفَةِ قُلُوبُهُمْ مِنْهَا وَإِنْعَامُ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ فِيهَا [ دُعَاءُ الرَّسُولِ لِهَوَازِنَ ] ثُمَّ خَرَجَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ حِينَ انْصَرَفَ عَنْ الطَّائِفِ عَلَى دَحْنَا حَتَّى نَزَلَ الْجِعْرَانَةَ فِيمَنْ مَعَهُ مِنْ النَّاسِ، وَمَعَهُ مِنْ هَوَازِنَ سَبْيٌ كَثِيرٌ وَقَدْ قَالَ لَهُ رَجُلٌ مِنْ أَصْحَابِهِ. يَوْمَ ظَعَنَ عَنْ ثَقِيفٍ: يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ، اُدْعُ عَلَيْهِمْ ؟ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ: اللَّهُمَّ اهْدِ ثَقِيفًا وَأْتِ بِهِمْ.
Translation
✧ THE MATTER OF THE PROPERTY AND CAPTIVES OF HAWĀZIN, THE GIFTS TO THOSE WHOSE HEARTS WERE TO BE RECONCILED THEREFROM, AND THE MESSENGER OF GOD'S ﷺ BESTOWALS THEREIN [THE MESSENGER'S PRAYER FOR HAWĀZIN] Then the Messenger of God ﷺ departed when he turned away from al-Ṭāʾif by way of Daḥnā until he halted at al-Jiʿrānah with those of the people who were with him. With him were many captives from Hawāzin. A man from his companions said to him on the day he set out from Thaqīf: "O Messenger of God, invoke God against them?" The Messenger of God ﷺ said: "O God, guide Thaqīf and bring them."
