The Messenger of God ﷺ and His Mothers
[ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ وَأُمَّهَاتُهُ ] قَالَ ابْنُ هِشَامٍ: فَوَلَدَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْمُطَّلِبِ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ سَيِّدَ وَلَدِ آدَمَ، مُحَمَّدَ بْنَ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْمُطَّلِبِ، صَلَوَاتُ اللَّهِ وَسَلَامُهُ وَرَحْمَتُهُ وَبَرَكَاتُهُ عَلَيْهِ وَعَلَى آلِهِ. وَأُمِّهِ: آمِنَةُ بِنْتُ وَهْبِ بْنِ عَبْدِ مَنَافِ بْنِ زُهْرَةَ بْنِ كِلَابِ بْنِ مُرَّةَ بْنِ كَعْبِ بْنِ لُؤَيِّ بْنِ غَالِبِ بْنِ فِهْرِ بْنِ مَالِكِ بْنِ النَّضْرِ. وَأُمُّهَا: بَرَّةُ بِنْتُ عَبْدِ الْعُزَّى بْنِ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ عَبْدِ الدَّارِ بْنِ قُصَيِّ بْنِ كِلَابِ بْنِ مُرَّةَ بْنِ كَعْبِ بْنِ لُؤَيِّ بْنِ غَالِبِ بْنِ فِهْرِ بْنِ مَالِكِ بْنِ النَّضْرِ. وَأُمُّ بَرَّةَ: أُمُّ حَبِيبٍ بِنْتُ أَسَدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْعُزَّى بْنِ قُصَيِّ بْنِ كِلَابِ بْنِ مُرَّةَ بْنِ كَعْبِ بْنِ لُؤَيِّ بْنِ غَالِبِ بْنِ فِهْرِ بْنِ مَالِكِ بْنِ النَّضْرِ. وَأُمُّ أُمِّ حَبِيبٍ: بَرَّةُ بِنْتُ عَوْفِ بْنِ عُبَيْدِ بْنِ عُوَيْجِ بْنِ عَدِيِّ بْنِ كَعْبِ بْنِ لُؤَيِّ بْنِ غَالِبِ بْنِ فِهْرِ بْنِ مَالِكِ بْنِ النَّضْرِ. قَالَ ابْنُ هِشَامٍ: فَرَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ أَشْرَفُ وَلَدِ آدَمَ حَسَبًا، وَأَفْضَلُهُمْ نَسَبًا مِنْ قِبَلِ أَبِيهِ وَأُمِّهِ ﷺ
Translation
✧ [The Messenger of Allah ﷺ and his mothers] Ibn Hishām said: ʿAbd Allāh b. ʿAbd al-Muṭṭalib begat the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, the master of the children of Adam, Muḥammad b. ʿAbd Allāh b. ʿAbd al-Muṭṭalib, may Allah's blessings, peace, mercy, and benedictions be upon him and upon his family. His mother was Āminah bt. Wahb b. ʿAbd Manāf b. Zuhrah b. Kilāb b. Murrah b. Kaʿb b. Luʾayy b. Ghālib b. Fihr b. Mālik b. al-Naḍr. Her mother was Barrah bt. ʿAbd al-ʿUzzā b. ʿUthmān b. ʿAbd al-Dār b. Quṣayy b. Kilāb b. Murrah b. Kaʿb b. Luʾayy b. Ghālib b. Fihr b. Mālik b. al-Naḍr. Barrah's mother was Umm Ḥabīb bt. Asad b. ʿAbd al-ʿUzzā b. Quṣayy b. Kilāb b. Murrah b. Kaʿb b. Luʾayy b. Ghālib b. Fihr b. Mālik b. al-Naḍr. Umm Ḥabīb's mother was Barrah bt. ʿAwf b. ʿUbayd b. ʿUwayj b. ʿAdī b. Kaʿb b. Luʾayy b. Ghālib b. Fihr b. Mālik b. al-Naḍr. Ibn Hishām said: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ was the noblest of the children of Adam in lineage and the most excellent of them in descent, from his father and his mother, ﷺ.
