The Messenger's departure

Translation

✧ [ Khirāsh, the Messenger’s envoy to Quraysh ] Ibn Isḥāq said: Some of the people of knowledge related to me that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ summoned Khirāsh b. Umayyah al-Khuzāʿī and sent him to Quraysh in Makkah, mounting him on a camel of his called al-Thaʿlab, to convey to their nobles from him the purpose for which he had come. But they hamstrung the Messenger of Allah’s ﷺ camel under him and intended to kill him. The Aḥābīsh prevented them, so they let him go until he came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ.
