ʿAmr and Khālid's agreement on Islam
[ إسْلَامُ ابْنِ طَلْحَةَ ] قَالَ ابْنُ إسْحَاقَ، وَحَدَّثَنِي مَنْ لَا أَتَّهِمُ: أَنَّ عُثْمَانَ بْنَ طَلْحَةَ بْنِ أَبِي طَلْحَةَ، كَانَ مَعَهُمَا، حِينَ أَسْلَمَا. [ شِعْرٌ لِلسَّهْمِيِّ فِي إسْلَامِ ابْنِ طَلْحَةَ وَخَالِدٍ ] قَالَ ابْنُ إسْحَاقَ: فَقَالَ ابْنُ الزِّبَعْرَى السَّهْمِيُّ: أَنْشُدُ عُثْمَانَ بْنَ طَلْحَةَ حِلْفَنَا وَمُلْقَى نِعَالِ الْقَوْمِ عِنْدَ الْمُقَبَّلِ وَمَا عَقَدَ الْآبَاءُ مِنْ كُلِّ حِلْفِهِ وَمَا خَالِدٌ مِنْ مِثْلِهَا بِمُحَلَّلِ أَمِفْتَاحَ بَيْتٍ غَيْرِ بَيْتِكَ تَبْتَغِي وَمَا يُبْتَغَى مِنْ مَجْدِ بَيْتٍ مُؤَثَّلِ فَلَا تَأْمَنَنَّ خَالِدًا بَعْدَ هَذِهِ وَعُثْمَانُ جَاءَ بِالدُّهَيْمِ الْمُعَضَّلِ وَكَانَ فَتْحُ بَنِي قُرَيْظَةَ فِي ذِي الْقَعْدَةِ وَصَدْرِ ذِي الْحَجَّةِ، وَوَلِيَ تِلْكَ الْحِجَّةَ الْمُشْرِكُونَ
Translation
✧ The Islam of Ibn Ṭalḥah. Ibn Isḥāq said: A person I do not suspect told me that ʿUthmān b. Ṭalḥah b. Abī Ṭalḥah was with the two of them when they became Muslims. Poetry by al-Sahmī on the Islam of Ibn Ṭalḥah and Khālid. Ibn Isḥāq said: Ibn al-Zibaʿrā al-Sahmī said: I adjure ʿUthmān b. Ṭalḥah by our alliance and by the place where the people’s sandals are cast at al-Muqabbal, And by every pact the forefathers made; Khālid is not released from the like of them. Do you seek the key of a house other than your own, and what glory of an established house is sought? Do not feel secure from Khālid after this, and ʿUthmān has brought the black, incurable calamity. The conquest of Banū Qurayẓah took place in Dhū al-Qaʿdah and the beginning of Dhū al-Ḥijjah, and the polytheists had charge of that pilgrimage.
