Sirat Ibn Hisham 108
What the Arabs used to do with the idols
Translation
✧ [Al-Mustawghir and his age] And it is said that al-Mustawghir lived three hundred and thirty years, and he was the longest-lived of all of Muḍar, and he is the one who says: I have grown weary of life and its length, and I have lived from the number of years, hundreds— a hundred, then after it two hundred for me, and I have added to the number of months, years. Is what remains but as what has passed us— a day that passes and a night that drives us on? And some of the people narrate these verses as belonging to Zuhayr b. Janāb al-Kalbī.
