Remove sins from the worshipper by virtue of the Chosen One, ﷺ .

أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ قُتَيْبَةَ بِخَبَرٍ غَرِيبٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا حَرْمَلَةُ بْنُ يَحْيَى قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ وَهْبٍ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنَا يُونُسُ عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنِي الْعَلَاءُ بْنُ رُؤْبَةَ التَّمِيمِيُّ هُوَ الْحِمْصِيُّ عَنْ هَاشِمِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ الزُّبَيْرِ

أَنَّ عُمَرَ بْنَ الْخَطَّابِ أَصَابَتْهُ مُصِيبَةٌ فَأَتَى رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ فَشَكَا إِلَيْهِ ذَلِكَ وَسَأَلَهُ أَنْ يَأْمُرَ لَهُ بِوَسْقٍ مِنْ تَمْرٍ فَقَالَ لَهُ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «إِنْ شِئْتَ أَمَرْتُ لَكَ بِوَسْقٍ مِنْ تَمْرٍ وَإِنْ شِئْتَ عَلَّمْتُكَ كَلِمَاتٍ هِيَ خَيْرٌ لَكَ؟ » قَالَ عَلِّمْنِيهُنَّ وَمُرْ لِي بِوَسْقٍ فَإِنِّي ذُو حَاجَةٍ إِلَيْهِ فَقَالَ «قُلِ اللَّهُمَّ احْفَظْنِي بِالْإِسْلَامِ قَاعِدًا وَاحْفَظْنِي بِالْإِسْلَامِ قَائِمًا وَاحْفَظْنِي بِالْإِسْلَامِ رَاقِدًا وَلَا تُطِعْ فِيَّ عَدُوًّا حَاسِدًا وَأَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ شَرِّ مَا أَنْتَ آخِذٌ بِنَاصِيَتِهِ وَأَسْأَلُكَ مِنَ الْخَيْرِ الَّذِي هُوَ بِيَدِكَ كُلِّهِ»

✧ Umar b. al-Khattab suffered a misfortune, so he came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and complained to him about that, and asked him to order a wasq of dates for him. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to him: 'If you wish, I will order a wasq of dates for you, and if you wish, I will teach you words that are better for you?' He said: 'Teach them to me and order a wasq for me, for I am in need of it.' He said: 'Say: "O Allah, preserve me with Islam while sitting, preserve me with Islam while standing, preserve me with Islam while lying down, and do not give power over me to a jealous enemy. I seek refuge in You from the evil of what You hold by its forelock, and I ask You for all the good that is in Your hand."'
