أَخْبَرَنَا عُمَرُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الْهَمْدَانِيُّ حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِشْكَابٍ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الصَّمَدِ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْوَارِثِ حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي عَنِ الْحُسَيْنِ يَعْنِي الْمُعَلِّمَ عَنِ ابْنِ بُرَيْدَةَ حَدَّثَنِي يَحْيَى بْنُ يَعْمُرَ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ

كَانَ يَقُولُ «اللَّهُمَّ لَكَ أَسْلَمْتُ وَبِكَ آمَنْتُ وَعَلَيْكَ تَوَكَّلْتُ وَإِلَيْكَ أَنَبْتُ وَبِكَ خَاصَمْتُ أَعُوذُ بِكَ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا أَنْتَ أَنَّ تُضِلَّنِي أَنْتَ الْحَيُّ الَّذِي لَا يَمُوتُ وَالْجِنُّ وَالْإِنْسُ يَمُوتُونَ»

✧ He used to say: 'O Allah, to You I have submitted, in You I have believed, upon You I have relied, to You I have turned, and with You I have contended. I seek refuge in You—there is no god but You—from Your misguiding me. You are the Living Who does not die, while jinn and humans die.'
