✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ came to Madinah, and Abdullah b. Salam was in his palm grove. Abdullah b. Salam came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and said: I will ask you about things that no one knows except a prophet. If you tell me them, I will believe in you. He asked him about resemblance, about the first thing that will gather the people, and about the first thing the people of Paradise will eat. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "Gabriel informed me about them just now." He said: That is the enemy of the Jews. So the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "As for resemblance, if the man's fluid precedes the woman's fluid, the child will resemble him, and if the woman's fluid precedes the man's fluid, the child will resemble her. The first thing that will gather the people is a fire that will come from the east and gather the people to the west. The first thing the people of Paradise will eat is the head of a bull and the liver of a whale." Then he said: O Messenger of Allah, the Jews are a slanderous people; if they hear of my belief in you, they will slander me and attack me. I would like you to send for them. So he sent for them and they came. He said: "What do you say about Abdullah b. Salam?" They said: He is our master and the son of our master, our scholar and the son of our scholar, our best and the son of our best. He ﷺ said: "Do you think that if he accepts Islam, you will accept Islam?" They said: May Allah protect him from saying that; he would never do it. He said: Come out, O Ibn Salam. So he came out to them and said: I bear witness that there is no god but Allah, and I bear witness that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah. They said: Rather, he is our worst and the son of our worst, our ignoramus and the son of our ignoramus. He said: Did I not tell you, O Messenger of Allah, that they are a slanderous people?
