✧ We said, 'O Messenger of God, when we are with you our hearts soften and we become people of the Hereafter, but when we leave you the world charms us and we smell women and children.' He said, 'If you could always be in the state you are in when with me, the angels would shake your hands with their palms, even if you were in your houses, and if you did not sin, God would bring a people who sin so that He might forgive them.' He said, 'We said, O Messenger of God...'

Notes

machine translation"Tell us about Paradise: what is its construction?" He said: "One brick of gold and one brick of silver, its mortar is strong-scented musk, its pebbles are pearls or rubies, and its soil is saffron. Whoever enters it will live in bliss and not be miserable, and will abide forever and not die. His garments will not wear out and his youth will not fade. Three whose supplication is not rejected: the just ruler, the fasting person when he breaks his fast, and the supplication of the oppressed, which is carried upon the clouds and the doors of the heavens are opened for it, and the Lord says: By My might, I will surely help you, even if after a while."

machine translationAbū Mujāhid Saʿd b. Yazīd al-Ṭāʾī narrates it, and there is disagreement about him. Zuhayr b. Muʿāwiyah, ʿAmr b. Qays al-Mulāʾī and Saʿdān b. Bishr al-Juhanī narrated it from Saʿd Abū Mujāhid, from Abū Midallah, from Abū Hurayrah. Ḥamzah al-Zayyāt narrated it from Saʿd al-Ṭāʾī Abū Mujāhid, and said: from a man, from Abū Hurayrah. I think he did not remember his kunyah, so he said "from a man" and meant Abū Midallah, and God knows best. The hadith is preserved (maḥfūẓ).
