✧ I came to Ubayy b. Ka'b and said to him: Something about divine decree has fallen into my soul. Narrate to me something that perhaps will remove it from my heart. He said: 'If Allah were to punish the inhabitants of His heavens and the inhabitants of His earth, He would punish them without being unjust to them. And if He were to have mercy on them, His mercy would be better for them than their deeds. And if you were to spend the like of Uhud in the path of Allah, Allah would not accept it from you until you believe in divine decree and know that what afflicted you would not have missed you, and that what missed you would not have afflicted you. And if you died on other than this, you would enter the Fire.'
