✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ distributed the spoils of Hunayn and gave al-Aqra' b. Habis a hundred camels and 'Uyaynah b. Badr a hundred camels, and he mentioned a number of the Helpers. They said, “O Messenger of Allah, you give our spoils to people whose swords are dripping with our blood—or our blood is dripping from their swords.” That reached him, so he gathered the Helpers and said, “Are there among you other than you?” They said, “No, except the son of our sister.” He said, “The son of a people’s sister is one of them.” Then he said, “O assembly of Helpers, do you not wish that the people go with this world—or with sheep and camels—and you go with Muhammad to your homes?” They said, “Yes, O Messenger of Allah.” He said, “By the One in whose hand is the soul of Muhammad, if the people took a valley and the Helpers took a mountain pass, I would take the mountain pass of the Helpers. The Helpers are my bosom and my treasury. Were it not for the Hijrah, I would be a man of the Helpers.”
