أَخْبَرَنَا حَامِدُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ شُعَيْبٍ حَدَّثَنَا الرَّبِيعُ بْنُ ثَعْلَبٍ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو إِسْمَاعِيلَ الْمُؤَدِّبُ عَنْ إِسْمَاعِيلَ بْنِ أَبِي خَالِدٍ عَنْ قَيْسِ بْنِ أَبِي حَازِمٍ عَنْ جَرِيرٍ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ

«يَا جَرِيرُ إِنَّهُ لَمْ يَبْقَ مِنْ طَوَاغِيتِ الْجَاهِلِيَّةِ إِلَّا بَيْتُ ذِي الْخَلَصَةِ فَاكْفِينِهِ» قَالَ فَخَرَجْتُ فِي سَبْعِينَ وَمِائَةٍ مِنْ قَوْمِي فَأَحْرَقْنَاهُ وَبَعَثْتُ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ ﷺ رَجُلًا يُبَشِّرُهُ يُكَنَّى أَبَا أَرْطَاةَ فَقَالَ وَاللَّهِ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ مَا جِئْتُكَ حَتَّى تَرَكْتُهُ مِثْلَ الْبَعِيرِ الْأَجْرَبِ فَقَالَ ﷺ «اللَّهُمَّ بَارِكْ فِي خَيْلِ أَحْمَسَ وَرِجَالِهَا»

✧ «O Jarīr, none of the idols of the pre-Islamic era remains except the house of Dhū al-Khalaṣah, so suffice me against it.» He said: I set out with one hundred and seventy men of my people, and we burned it. I sent a man to the Prophet ﷺ to give him the good news; he was called Abū Arṭāh. He said, "By Allah, O Messenger of Allah, I did not come to you until I left it like a mangy camel." The Prophet ﷺ said, "O Allah, bless the horses of Aḥmas and its men."
