أَخْبَرَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ سُفْيَانَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ عَنْ إِسْمَاعِيلَ عَنْ قَيْسٍ عَنْ جَرِيرٍ قَالَ
قَالَ لِي رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «أَلَا تُرِيحُنِي مِنْ ذِي الْخَلَصَةِ» بَيْتًا كَانَ لِخَثْعَمٍ فِي الْجَاهِلِيَّةِ يُسَمَّى الْكَعْبَةَ الْيَمَانِيَّةَ قَالَ قُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ إِنِّي رَجُلٌ لَا أَثْبُتُ عَلَى الْخَيْلِ قَالَ فَمَسَحَ صَدْرِي ثُمَّ قَالَ «اللَّهُمَّ اجْعَلْهُ هَادِيًا مَهْدِيًّا حَتَّى وَجَدْتُ بَرْدَهَا»

✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to me, "Will you not relieve me of Dhū al-Khalaṣah?"—a house belonging to Khathʿam in the pre-Islamic era called the Yemeni Kaʿbah. He said: I said, "O Messenger of Allah, I am a man who cannot keep steady on horseback." He wiped my chest and said, "O Allah, make him a rightly-guided guide," until I felt its coolness.
