أَخْبَرَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ سُفْيَانَ حَدَّثَنَا هُدْبَةُ بْنُ خَالِدٍ حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ عَنْ ثَابِتٍ عَنْ أَنَسٍ قَالَ
لَمَّا نَزَلَتْ هَذِهِ الْآيَةُ {لَنْ تَنَالُوا الْبِرَّ حَتَّى تُنْفِقُوا مِمَّا تُحِبُّونَ} قَالَ أَبُو طَلْحَةَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ إِنَّ اللَّهَ يَسْأَلُنَا مِنْ أَمْوَالِنَا فَإِنِّي أُشْهِدُكَ أَنِّي قَدْ جَعَلْتُ أَرْضِي وَقْفًا قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «اجْعَلْهَا فِي قَرَابَتِكَ» فَقَسَمَهَا بَيْنَ حَسَّانَ بْنِ ثَابِتٍ وَأُبَيِّ بْنِ كَعْبٍ
Translation

✧ When this verse was revealed, {You will never attain righteousness until you spend of what you love} (Qur'an 3:92), Abu Talhah said: "O Messenger of Allah, Allah asks us of our wealth. I call you to witness that I have made my land an endowment." The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "Give it to your relatives." So he divided it between Hassan b. Thabit and Ubayy b. Ka'b.
