✧ Abu Talhah was the wealthiest of the Ansar in Madinah, and his most beloved property was Bayruha, which faced the mosque. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to enter it and drink from its sweet water. Anas said: When this verse was revealed, {You will never attain righteousness until you spend of what you love} (Qur'an 3:92), Abu Talhah went to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and said: "O Messenger of Allah, Allah says in His Book, {You will never attain righteousness until you spend of what you love}, and the most beloved of my property to me is Bayruha. It is a charity for Allah, seeking its righteousness and its reward with Allah. Place it, O Messenger of Allah, wherever you wish." The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "Excellent! That is a profitable property, excellent! That is a profitable property. I have heard what you said about it, and I think you should give it to your relatives." Abu Talhah said: "I will do so, O Messenger of Allah." So Abu Talhah divided it among his relatives and his paternal cousins.
