أَخْبَرَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْجَبَّارِ الصُّوفِيُّ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ الرُّومِيِّ حَدَّثَنَا النَّضْرُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ حَدَّثَنَا عِكْرِمَةُ بْنُ عَمَّارٍ حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو زُمَيْلٍ عَنْ مَالِكِ بْنِ مَرْثَدٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ أَبِي ذَرٍّ قَالَ

كُنْتُ رُبُعَ الْإِسْلَامِ أَسْلَمَ قَبْلِي ثَلَاثَةٌ وَأَنَا الرَّابِعُ أَتَيْتُ نَبِيَّ اللَّهِ ﷺ فَقُلْتُ لَهُ السَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ أَشْهَدُ أَنْ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ وَأَشْهَدُ أَنَّ مُحَمَّدًا عَبْدُهُ وَرَسُولُهُ فَرَأَيْتُ الِاسْتِبْشَارَ فِي وَجْهِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ فَقَالَ «مَنْ أَنْتَ؟ » فَقُلْتُ إِنِّي «جُنْدُبٌ رَجُلٌ مِنْ بَنِي غِفَارٍ»

✧ "I was the fourth to embrace Islam before me, three people had already accepted it. When I came to the Prophet ﷺ, I greeted him saying, 'peace be upon you, O Messenger of Allah. I bear witness that there is no god but Allah and I bear witness that Muhammad is His servant and Messenger.' I saw joy on the face of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, so he asked, 'Who are you?' I replied, 'I am Jundub, a man from the tribe of Ghifar.'"
