✧ The admonition to prevent reliance on the writings of a person without preserving them

أَخْبَرَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ سُفْيَانَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا صَفْوَانُ بْنُ صَالِحٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا الْوَلِيدُ بْنُ مُسْلِمٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا شَيْبَانُ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي سِمَاكُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ عَنْ أَبِيهِ ابْنِ مَسْعُودٍ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ
«رَحِمَ اللَّهُ مَنْ سَمِعَ مِنِّي حَدِيثًا فَبَلَّغَهُ كَمَا سَمِعَهُ فَرُبَّ مُبَلَّغٍ أَوْعَى لَهُ مِنْ سَامِعٍ»

✧ "The Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, said, 'May Allah have mercy on the one who hears a hadith from me and conveys it as he heard it, for perhaps the one who conveys it understands it better than the one who hears it.'"
