أَخْبَرَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ سُفْيَانَ حَدَّثَنَا مَنْصُورُ بْنُ أَبِي مُزَاحِمٍ حَدَّثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ عَنْ صَالِحِ بْنِ كَيْسَانَ عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ عَنْ أَبِي أُمَامَةَ بْنِ سَهْلِ بْنِ حُنَيْفٍ عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ قَالَ

«بَيْنَمَا أَنَا نَائِمٌ رَأَيْتُ النَّاسَ يُعْرَضُونَ عَلَيَّ وَعَلَيْهِمْ قُمُصٌ مِنْهَا مَا يَبْلُغُ الثَّدْيَيْنِ وَمِنْهَا مَا هُوَ أَسْفَلُ مِنْ ذَلِكَ وَعُرِضَ عَلَيَّ عُمَرُ وَعَلَيْهِ قَمِيصٌ يَجُرُّهُ» فَقَالَ مَنْ حَوْلَهُ مَا أَوَّلْتَ يَا نَبِيَّ اللَّهِ ذَلِكَ؟ قَالَ «الدِّينُ»

✧ “While I was sleeping, I saw the people being presented to me, wearing shirts, some of which reached the breasts and some of which were lower than that. ʿUmar was presented to me wearing a shirt that he was dragging.” Those around him said, “How did you interpret it, O Prophet of Allah?” He said, “The religion.”
