✧ «Gog and Magog will be opened and they will come out upon the people, as God said: {They will descend from every height} [21:96]. The Muslims will withdraw from them to their cities and fortresses, gather their livestock to themselves, and drink up the water of the earth, until one of them passes by that river and says, "There was once water here." When no one remains among the people except those in a fortress or a city, one of them will say, "These are the people of the earth; we have finished with them. The people of heaven remain." Then one of them will shake his spear and throw it toward the sky, and it will return to them stained with blood, as a trial and a tribulation. While they are in that state, God will send worms in their necks like the worms of locusts that come out of their necks, and they will become dead, so that no sound is heard from them. Then the Muslims will say, "Will not a man sell his life for us to see what has happened to this enemy?" One of them will volunteer for that, expecting to be killed, and he will find them dead, one upon another. He will call out, "O assembly of Muslims, rejoice, for God has sufficed you against your enemy!" Then they will come out of their cities and fortresses and let their livestock roam.»
