أَخْبَرَنَا الْفَضْلُ بْنُ الْحُبَابِ الْجُمَحِيُّ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا مُسَدَّدُ بْنُ مُسَرْهَدٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ الْوَارِثِ بْنِ سَعِيدٍ عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ جُمْهَانَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي مُسْلِمُ بْنُ أَبِي بَكْرَةَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ

«إِنَّ نَاسًا مِنْ أُمَّتِي يَنْزِلُونَ بِحَائِطٍ يُسَمُّونَهُ الْبَصْرَةَ عِنْدَهَا نَهْرٌ يُقَالُ لَهُ دِجْلَةُ يَكُونُ لَهُمْ عَلَيْهَا جِسْرٌ وَيَكْثُرُ أَهْلُهَا وَيَكُونُ مِنْ أَمْصَارِ الْمُهَاجِرِينَ فَإِذَا كَانَ فِي آخِرِ الزَّمَانِ جَاءَ بَنُو قَنْطُورَاءَ أَقْوَامٌ عِرَاضُ الْوجُوهِ حَتَّى يَنْزِلُوا عَلَى شَاطِئِ النَّهْرِ فَيَفْتَرِقُ أَهْلُهَا عَلَى ثَلَاثِ فِرَقٍ فَأَمَّا فِرْقَةٌ فَتَأْخُذُ أَذْنَابَ الْإِبِلِ وَالْبَرِّيَّةِ فَيَهْلِكُونَ وَأَمَّا فِرْقَةٌ فَيَأْخُذُونَ لِأَنْفُسِهِمْ وَيَكْفُرُونَ وَأَمَّا فِرْقَةٌ فَيَجْعَلُونَ ذَرَارِيَّهُمْ خَلْفَ ظُهُورِهِمْ وَيُقَاتِلُونَهُمْ وَهُمُ الشُّهَدَاءُ»

✧ "Indeed, some people from my nation will settle at a walled garden they call al-Basrah, near which is a river called Dijlah. They will have a bridge over it, and its inhabitants will become numerous, and it will be among the cities of the emigrants. At the end of time, Banu Qantura' will come — peoples broad-faced — until they settle on the riverbank. Its people will divide into three factions. One faction will take to the tails of camels and the desert and perish. Another faction will take for themselves and disbelieve. Another faction will put their children behind their backs and fight them, and they are the martyrs."

    سئل عن حديث عبد الرحمن بن أبي بكرة عن أبيه عن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم في ذكر البصرة وما يكون فيها في آخر الزمان فقال يرويه سعيد بن جمهان واختلف عنه فرواه حشرج بن نباتة عن سعيد بن جمهان عن ابن أبي بكرة عن أبيه وتابعه العوام بن حوشب من رواية محمد بن يزيد ومحمد بن الحسن الواسطيين فرواه عن سعيد بن جمهان عن ابن أبي بكرة عن أبيه وخالفهما أبو الأشهب جعفر بن الحارث عن العوام عن سعيد عن ابن أبي بكرة ولم يذكر بينهما أحدا والأول أصح
