✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ rode a donkey with a packsaddle and a velvet cloth beneath it. He rode and mounted Usamah b. Zayd behind him while he was visiting Sa'd b. Mu'adh among the Banu al-Harith in al-Khazraj, and that was before the Battle of Badr. He passed by a gathering in which there was a mixture of Muslims, polytheists, idol worshippers, and Jews. Among them was 'Abd Allah b. Ubayy b. Salul, and in the gathering was 'Abd Allah b. Rawahah. When the dust of the animal settled over the gathering, 'Abd Allah covered his nose with his cloak and said, 'Do not raise dust upon us.' The Prophet ﷺ greeted them, stopped before them, called them to Allah, and recited the Qur'an to them. Then 'Abd Allah b. Ubayy b. Salul said, 'O man, none is better than this if what you say is true. Do not annoy us in our gatherings, return to your own place, and if any of us comes to you, narrate to him.'
