✧ Some of the companions of the Prophet ﷺ sought water for ablution. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, 'Does any of you have water?' He placed his hand in the water and then said, 'Perform ablution in the name of Allah.' I saw water flowing from between his fingers ﷺ, and they performed ablution until the last of them had done so.

machine translationSaʿīd b. Abī ʿArūbah narrates it, and there is disagreement about him. It was narrated from Makkī b. Ibrāhīm, from Saʿīd, from Qatādah, from al-Ḥasan, from Anas; Aḥmad b. al-Ḥubāb al-Ḥimyarī said this from Makkī, and it is not preserved (maḥfūẓ). Yazīd b. Zurayʿ, al-Bursānī and Ghundar contradicted him: they narrated it from Shuʿbah, from Qatādah, from Anas, without al-Ḥasan in it, and this is the correct version.
