✧ They went out with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ in the year of the Tabuk campaign. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to combine Zuhr and ʿAsr, and Maghrib and ʿIsha. He said: He delayed the prayer one day, then came out and prayed Zuhr and ʿAsr together. Then he entered, then came out and prayed Maghrib and ʿIsha together. Then he said, "Tomorrow, if Allah wills, you will come to the spring of Tabuk. You will not reach it until the day is bright. Whoever comes to it, let him not touch any of its water until I come." He said: We came to it, and two men had preceded us to it. The spring was like a shoelace, oozing a little water. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ asked them, "Did you touch any of its water?" They said, "Yes." He rebuked them and said to them whatever Allah willed. Then they scooped from the spring with their hands a little until it gathered in something. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ washed his face and hands in it, then returned it to the spring. The spring flowed with abundant water, and the people drew water. Then the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "It is near, O Muʿadh, if your life is prolonged, that you will see this place filled with gardens."
