✧ He heard the Prophet ﷺ say in his sermon: 'Allah commanded me to teach you what you did not know of what He taught me this day: every property I have granted to My servant is lawful. I created all My servants as hanifs, but the devils came to them and turned them away from their religion, forbade them what I had made lawful for them, and commanded them to associate with Me that for which I have sent down no authority. Allah looked upon the people of the earth and loathed them, Arabs and non-Arabs alike, except remnants of the People of the Book. He said: "O Muhammad, I have sent you only to test you and to test others through you, and I have sent down to you a Book that water cannot wash away, which you recite awake and asleep." Allah, Mighty and Exalted, commanded me to warn Quraysh, so I said: "Then they will split my head and leave it like a loaf of bread." He said: "Drive them out as they drove you out, raid them and they will raid you, spend and it will be spent on you, send an army and We will send five times its like, and fight with those who obey you against those who disobey you." He said: "The people of Paradise are three: a just imam who is truthful and granted success; a man who is merciful and tender-hearted toward every relative and Muslim; and a chaste poor man who gives charity." He said: "The people of Hell are five: an unjust man whose greed does not conceal even the smallest thing; a man who does not enter evening or morning except that he is deceiving you regarding your family and wealth; and the weak who are followers among you, not seeking family or wealth." A man said to him: "O Abu Abd Allah, is he one of the clients or one of the Arabs?" He said: "He is a follower who belongs to a man and commits illicit intercourse with his wife outside marriage; the shameless obscene one; and he mentioned miserliness and lying.
