✧ I went out with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ on a military expedition, and my camel held me back, so I fell behind. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ dismounted and prodded it with his staff, then said to me, "Mount." I mounted it, and I saw myself holding it back from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. He said, "Did you marry?" I said, "Yes." He said, "A virgin or a previously married woman?" I said, "Rather a previously married woman." He said, "Why not a young girl whom you could play with and she could play with you?" I said, "I have sisters, so I wanted to marry a woman who could gather them together, comb their hair, and take care of them." He said, "You will arrive soon, and when you arrive, act wisely, act wisely." Then he said, "Will you sell your camel?" I said, "Yes." He bought it from me for an ounce. Then the Messenger of Allah ﷺ arrived before me, and I arrived in the morning. I came to the mosque and found him at the door of the mosque. He said, "Now, when you arrived?" I said, "Yes." He said, "Leave your camel, enter, and pray two rak'ahs." I entered and prayed, then returned, and he ordered Bilal to weigh for me an ounce. Bilal weighed for me and made the scale generous. I went away, and when I turned, he said, "Call Jabir for me." I was called, and I said, "Now he will return the camel to me, and nothing was more hateful to me than it." He said, "Your camel and its price are yours."
