✧ I was a youth tending sheep belonging to 'Uqbah b. Abi Mu'ayt. The Prophet ﷺ and Abu Bakr came to me and he said: “O boy, do you have any milk with you?” I said: “Yes, but I am entrusted.” He said: “Bring me a ewe that no male has mounted.” So I brought him a young she-goat. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ grasped it, then began to wipe its udder and supplicate until it let down milk. Abu Bakr, ؓ, came to him with something, and he milked into it, then said to Abu Bakr: “Drink.” Abu Bakr ؓ drank, then the Prophet ﷺ drank after him. Then he said to the udder: “Draw up,” and it drew up and returned as it was. He said: Then I came to the Prophet ﷺ and said: “O Messenger of Allah, teach me some of this speech, or some of this Qur'an.” He wiped my head and said ﷺ: “You are a taught boy.” He said: I took from his mouth seventy surahs, which no human ever disputed with me.
