✧ We were with the Prophet ﷺ on a journey when a Bedouin came forward. When he drew near, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: “Where do you intend to go?” He said: “To my family.” He said: “Would you like something good?” He said: “What is it?” He said: “That you bear witness that there is no god but Allah alone, with no partner, and that Muhammad is His servant and Messenger.” He said: “Is there any witness to what you say?” He ﷺ said: “This samurah tree.” The Messenger of Allah ﷺ called it while it was on the edge of the valley, and it came plowing through the ground until it stood before him. He asked it to testify three times, and it testified that he was as he said; then it returned to its place, and the Bedouin returned to his people, saying: “If they follow me, I will bring them to you; otherwise I will come back to you and be with you.”

machine translationI reject this, because Abū Ḥayyān did not hear from ʿAṭāʾ and did not narrate from him, and this hadith is not from the hadith of ʿAṭāʾ. I said: Whose do you think it is? He said: It is more like the hadith of Abū Jannāb.
