أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو خَلِيفَةَ حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ الْمَدِينِيِّ حَدَّثَنَا أَنَسُ بْنُ عِيَاضٍ حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي ذِئْبٍ عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي ذُبَابٍ عَنْ عَطَاءِ بْنِ مِينَاءٍ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ

«يَا عِبَادَ اللَّهِ انْظُرُوا كَيْفَ يَصْرِفُ اللَّهُ عَنِّي شَتْمَهُمْ وَلَعَنَهُمْ» يَعْنِي قُرَيْشًا قَالُوا كَيْفَ ذَلِكَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ؟ قَالَ «يَشْتِمُونَ مُذَمَّمًا وَيَلْعَنُونَ مُذَمَّمًا وَأَنَا مُحَمَّدٌ ﷺ»

✧ “O servants of Allah, see how Allah turns away from me their insults and their curses,” meaning Quraysh. They said: “How is that, O Messenger of Allah?” He said: “They insult Mudhammam and curse Mudhammam, but I am Muhammad ﷺ.”
