أَخْبَرَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ الْحَسَنِ حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مَنْصُورٍ زَاجْ حَدَّثَنَا النَّضْرُ بْنُ شُمَيْلٍ حَدَّثَنَا شَدَّادُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ أَبَا الْوَازِعِ جَابِرَ بْنَ عَمْرٍو أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ أَبَا بَرْزَةَ يَقُولُ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ
«مَا بَيْنَ نَاحِيَتَيْ حَوْضِي كَمَا بَيْنَ أَيْلَةَ إِلَى صَنْعَاءَ مَسِيرَةَ شَهْرٍ عَرْضُهُ كَطُولِهِ فِيهَا مِزْرَابَانِ يَنْثَعِبَانِ مِنَ الْجَنَّةِ مِنْ وَرِقٍ وَذَهَبٍ أَبْيَضُ مِنَ اللَّبَنِ وَأَحْلَى مِنَ الْعَسَلِ وَأَبْرَدُ مِنَ الثَّلْجِ فِيهِ أَبَارِيقُ عَدَدُ نُجُومِ السَّمَاءِ»

✧ “The distance between the two sides of my Pool is like [the distance] between Ayla and Sana‘a: a month’s journey; its width is like its length. In it are two spouts gushing from Paradise, of silver and gold. [Its water is] whiter than milk, sweeter than honey, and colder than snow. In it are pitchers [as numerous as] the number of the stars of the sky.”
