✧ A chapter on suppressing a sneeze

أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو خَلِيفَةَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الْوَلِيدِ الطَّيَالِسِيُّ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا عِكْرِمَةُ بْنُ عَمَّارٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي إِيَاسُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ بْنِ الْأَكْوَعِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي قَالَ

كُنْتُ قَاعِدًا عِنْدَ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ فَعَطَسَ رَجُلٌ فقَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ «يَرْحَمُكَ اللَّهُ» ثُمَّ عَطَسَ أُخْرَى فقَالَ ﷺ «الرَّجُلُ مَزْكُومٌ»

✧ I was sitting with the Prophet ﷺ when a man sneezed, and the Prophet ﷺ said: “May Allah have mercy on you.” Then he sneezed again, and the Prophet ﷺ said: “The man has a cold.”
