أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ السَّامِيُّ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ حَنْبَلٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عُبَيْدَةَ الْحَدَّادُ عَنْ خَلَفِ بْنِ مِهْرَانَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا عَامِرٌ الْأَحْوَلُ عَنْ صَالِحِ بْنِ دِينَارٍ عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ الشَّرِيدِ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ الشَّرِيدَ يَقُولُ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ

«مَنْ قَتَلَ عُصْفُورًا عَبَثًا عَجَّ إِلَى اللَّهِ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ يَقُولُ يَا رَبِّ إِنَّ فُلَانًا قَتَلَنِي عَبَثًا وَلَمْ يَقْتُلْنِي مَنْفَعَةً»

✧ Whoever kills a sparrow in vain, it will cry out to Allah on the Day of Resurrection, saying, 'O Lord, so-and-so killed me in vain and did not kill me for any benefit.'
