أَخْبَرَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ سُفْيَانَ حَدَّثَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ الصَّبَّاحِ الْبَزَّارُ حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْكَرِيمِ حَدَّثَنِي إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ عَقِيلِ بْنِ مَعْقِلٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ وَهْبِ بْنِ مُنَبِّهٍ أَخْبَرَنِي جَابِرُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ يَقُولُ

«إِنْ عِشْتُ إِنْ شَاءَ اللَّهُ زَجَرْتُ أَنْ يُسَمَّى بَرَكَةً وَنَافِعًا وَأَفْلَحَ» فَلَا أَدْرِي قَالَ أَفْلَحُ أَمْ لَا؟ فَقُبِضَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ وَلَمْ يَزْجُرْ عَنْ ذَلِكَ فَأَرَادَ عُمَرُ أَنْ يَزْجُرَ عَنْ ذَلِكَ ثُمَّ تَرَكَهُ

✧ If I live, God willing, I will forbid naming someone Barakah, Nafi', and Aflah. I do not know whether he said Aflah or not. Then the Prophet ﷺ passed away and did not forbid that. 'Umar intended to forbid that, then he left it.
