✧ A group of men from Banū Hāshim entered upon Asmāʾ bt. ʿUmays, and Abū Bakr al-Ṣiddīq came in while she was his wife that day. He saw them and disliked that, and mentioned it to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, saying, 'I saw nothing but good.' The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, 'Allah has declared her innocent of that.' Then the Messenger of Allah ﷺ stood on the pulpit and said, 'After this day of mine, no man should enter upon a woman whose husband is absent unless accompanied by a man.'
