أَخْبَرَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ دَاوُدَ بْنِ وَرْدَانَ بِالْفُسْطَاطِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا عِيسَى بْنُ حَمَّادٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا اللَّيْثُ عَنِ ابْنِ عَجْلَانَ عَنِ الْقَعْقَاعِ بْنِ حَكِيمٍ وَزَيْدِ بْنِ أَسْلَمَ عَنْ أَبِي صَالِحٍ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ

«دَنَا رَجُلٌ إِلَى بِئْرٍ فَنَزَلَ فَشَرِبَ مِنْهَا وَعَلَى الْبِئْرِ كَلْبٌ يَلْهَثُ فَرَحِمَهُ فَنَزَعَ إِحْدَى خُفَّيْهِ فَغَرَفَ لَهُ فَسَقَاهُ فَشَكَرَ اللَّهُ لَهُ فَأَدْخَلَهُ الْجَنَّةَ»

✧ A man approached a well and went down and drank from it. There was a dog on the well panting, and he had mercy on it, so he removed one of his leather socks, scooped for it, and gave it water. Allah thanked him and admitted him to Paradise.
