أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ قَحْطَبَةَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا الْوَلِيدُ بْنُ شُجَاعٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا عِيسَى بْنُ يُونُسَ عَنْ سَعِيدٍ الْجُرَيْرِيِّ عَنْ أَبِي نَضْرَةَ عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ

كَانَ إِذَا اسْتَجَدَّ ثَوْبًا سَمَّاهُ بِاسْمِهِ فَقَالَ «اللَّهُمَّ أَنْتَ كَسَوْتَنِي هَذَا فَلَكَ الْحَمْدُ أَسْأَلُكَ مِنْ خَيْرِهِ وَخَيْرِ مَا صُنِعَ لَهُ وَأَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ شَرِّهِ وَشَرِّ مَا صُنِعَ لَهُ»

✧ When he acquired a new garment, he would name it by its name and say: “O Allah, You have clothed me with this, so to You belongs praise. I ask You for its good and the good for which it was made, and I seek refuge with You from its evil and the evil for which it was made.”
