✧ I said, "O Messenger of Allah, I met a man from the polytheists, and he cut off my hand. Then he took refuge from me behind a tree and said, 'I have submitted to Allah.' Should I kill him?" He said, "No." I said, "O Messenger of Allah, he cut off my hand." The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Do not kill him, for if you kill him, he would be in the position you were in before you killed him, and you would be in the position he was in before he uttered the word he said."
