✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ sent us to al-Huraqah of Juhaynah. We raided the people in the morning and defeated them. He said: I and a man from the Ansar caught up with one of their men. When we overwhelmed him, he said, "There is no god but Allah." The Ansari withheld from him, but I stabbed him with my spear and killed him. When we returned, that reached the Prophet ﷺ. He said, "O Usamah, you killed him after he said 'There is no god but Allah'?" He said: I said, "O Messenger of Allah, he only said it to protect himself." He said, "You stabbed him after he said 'There is no god but Allah'?" He kept repeating it until I wished I had not become Muslim before that day.
