أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو خَلِيفَةَ حَدَّثَنَا مُسَدَّدٌ عَنْ يَحْيَى الْقَطَّانُ حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ أَبِي عُبَيْدٍ عَنْ سَلَمَةَ بْنِ الْأَكْوَعِ قَالَ
خَرَجَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ عَلَى قَوْمٍ مِنْ أَسْلَمَ يَتَنَاضَلُونَ بِالسُّوقِ فَقَالَ «ارْمُوا بَنِي إِسْمَاعِيلَ فَإِنَّ أَبَاكُمْ كَانَ رَامِيًا وَأَنَا مَعَ بَنِي فُلَانٍ» لِأَحَدِ الْفَرِيقَيْنِ فَأَمْسَكُوا بِأَيْدِيهِمْ فَقَالَ «مَا لَكُمُ ارْمُوا» قَالُوا وَكَيْفَ نَرْمِي وَأَنْتَ مَعَ بَنِي فُلَانٍ؟ قَالَ «ارْمُوا وَأَنَا مَعَكُمْ كُلُّكُمْ»

✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ went out to a group of Aslam who were competing in archery in the marketplace and said, “Shoot, O sons of Ismail, for your father was an archer, and I am with the sons of so-and-so,” meaning one of the two parties. They stopped and held their hands. He said, “What is the matter with you? Shoot.” They said, “How can we shoot when you are with the sons of so-and-so?” He said, “Shoot, and I am with all of you.”
