أَخْبَرَنَا عُمَرُ بْنُ سَعِيدِ بْنِ سِنَانَ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ أَبِي بَكْرٍ عَنْ مَالِكٍ عَنْ نَافِعٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ
«أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ سَابِقَ بَيْنَ الْخَيْلِ الَّتِي قَدْ ضُمِّرَتْ مِنَ الْحَفْيَاءِ إِلَى ثَنِيَّةِ الْوَدَاعِ وَكَانَ أَمَدُهَا ثَنِيَّةَ الْوَدَاعِ وَسَابَقَ بَيْنَ الْخَيْلِ الَّتِي لَمْ تُضَمَّرْ مِنَ الثَّنِيَّةِ إِلَى مَسْجِدِ بَنِي زُرَيْقٍ» قَالَ وَكَانَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ فِيمَنْ سَابِقَ بِهَا
Translation

✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ held a race between horses that had been trained from al-Ḥafyāʾ to Thaniyyat al-Wadāʿ, and its distance was Thaniyyat al-Wadāʿ. And he held a race between horses that had not been trained from al-Thaniyya to the mosque of Banū Zurayq.ʿAbd Allāh was among those who raced with them.
