Sahih Ibn Hibban 4627

Translation

✧ They said, "O Messenger of Allah, tell us of an action that equals jihad in the way of Allah." He said, "You will not be able to do it." They said, "O Messenger of Allah, tell us, perhaps we will be able to do it." He said, "The example of the one who strives in the way of Allah is like the one who fasts, stands in prayer, and is devoutly obedient to the verses of Allah, not slackening from fasting or charity until the one who strives returns to his family."
