machine translationThis sheikh narrated it to me, meaning Wāthilah. I said, "What did he narrate to you?" He said: We were with the Prophet ﷺ on the expedition of Tabūk, when a group from Banū Sulaym came to him and said, "O Messenger of God, a companion of ours has made [the Fire] obligatory for himself." So the Messenger of God ﷺ said: "Free a slave on his behalf; God will free from the Fire a limb of his for every limb of the slave." "The name of Abū ʿAblah is Shimr b. Yaqẓān b. ʿĀmir b. ʿAbdullāh."
