✧ The companionship of married couples

أَخْبَرَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ سُفْيَانَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ خَلَّادٍ الْبَاهِلِيُّ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى الْقَطَّانُ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا مِسْعَرٌ عَنِ الْمِقْدَامِ بْنِ شُرَيْحٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ قَالَتْ

«إِنْ كُنْتُ لَآتِي النَّبِيَّ ﷺ بِالْإِنَاءِ فَآخُذُهُ فَأَشْرَبُ مِنْهُ فَيَأْخُذُهُ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ فَيَضَعُ فَاهُ مَوْضِعَ فِيَّ وَإِنْ كُنْتُ لِآخُذُ الْعَرْقَ مِنَ اللَّحْمِ فَآكُلُهُ فَيَأْخُذُهُ فَيَضَعُ فَاهُ مَوْضِعَ فِيَّ فَيَأْكُلُهُ وَأَنَا حَائِضٌ»

✧ “I would bring the vessel to the Prophet ﷺ and take it and drink from it. The Prophet ﷺ would take it and place his mouth where my mouth had been. And I would take a piece of meat with bone and eat from it, and he would take it and place his mouth where my mouth had been and eat it, while I was menstruating.”
