✧ A woman came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and said to him, "O Messenger of Allah, I have gifted myself to you." She stood for a long time, then a man stood up and said, "O Messenger of Allah, marry her to me if you have no need of her." The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Do you have anything to give her as dower?" He replied, "I have nothing except this lower garment of mine." The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "If you give it to her, you will sit with no lower garment. Look for something." He said, "I cannot find anything." He said, "Look for something, even an iron ring," but he could not find anything. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Do you have any of the Quran with you?" He said, "Yes, Surah such-and-such and Surah such-and-such," naming some surahs. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "I have married her to you for what you have of the Quran."
